Vision

Department of clinical microbiology is committed towards providing quality medical education and state of art, reliable diagnostic services. Our vision is to integrate recent applications and research for the development of a highly knowledgeable, skilled and competent medical students in the subject of clinical microbiology. We strive to act as a bridge between hospital and patient care for early diagnosis and prevention of infectious diseases.

Mission

• To provide outstanding education in clinical microbiology and immunology to undergraduate and post graduate students in medical sciences. 
• To deliver quality assured, timely diagnostic services to patients and also to enhance community understanding of the importance of infectious diseases and their pathogenesis by rising time to time awareness programmes.
• To develop interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary projects that are recognized worldwide for their innovative impacts on microbiology and immunology and hospital infection control and prevention.

Future Goals:

• To develop state of art facility, in terms of quality infrastructure, automated equipment and trained manpower so as to enable the students of medical microbiology to appreciate the aetiology, pathogenesis and laboratory diagnosis of infectious diseases.
• To deliver timely and quality diagnostic services to patients.
• To develop quality assured hospital infection control and prevention surveillance and monitoring practices. 
• To create an environment for need based quality research among faculty and students.
